20 mph zones in Liverpool Wavertree

Over the summer I undertook a number of “Luciana Listens” events across the Wavertree constituency. One  issue that was often raised was about traffic and road safety. Following this I undertook to support the expansion of 20 mph zones where residents want them. I’m delighted with the news that Mayor Anderson and local councillors Gary Millar, Joanne Calvert and Peter Brennan have secured a 20 mph zone in Old Swan off Derby Lane. I hope the new speed limit will help bring safer streets, whilst being better for the environment too. There are also plans to roll the programme out to other areas of Liverpool Wavertree, and I will continue to do all I can to make sure that where residents want safer residential streets through the implementation of 20mph zones, they receive the support they need.
