What is microlearning?

Before we move on to discuss myths, let’s understand what microlearning is. “Micro-learning is learning in small volleys: when the right content helps a student achieve concrete results. The information in the micro-courses is very specific, sharpened for a specific topic and focused on a narrow audience – to achieve maximum learning effectiveness.

This is a special approach to training, not just a format of materials imposed on employees from outside. Here are some benefits of microlearning: A good way to “refresh” knowledge. Just-in-time training. Boring instructions and guides turn into interactive presentations with tests and videos. Employees can learn when it’s convenient.

As you can see from this list, focus, context, support and results are important in micro-learning. Microcourses are like sprints, and they do not distract employees from work, but on the contrary – help to achieve results. And because micro-courses are short by nature, they should be as focused as possible on a specific topic and audience.
